Jack L. Stalling

Jack L. Stalling, 72, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home, The Plains. He was born May 6, 1938, in Athens County, son of the late Edison and Edna Bullock Stalling.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Dorthea Coey of The Plains; children, Peggy Keaton of Bolivar, Bob Jane Shaw of Newcomerstown, Paul Deb Shaw of Bolivar, Arthur Teresa Shaw of Newcomerstown, Joanna Phil Bunton of Dover, Vicky Kenneth Rex of Apple Creek, Sharon Coey of Illinois, Tom Coey of The Plains and Paul Osborne of Athens; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Jean Les Hopkins of Alexandria; brothers, Gary Donna Stalling of Athens, John Bernice Stalling of Nelsonville, David Pat Stalling of Meigs County and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Stalling and a grandson, Billy Joe Tice.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 28, 2010 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Stan West officiating. Interment will be at Hilltop Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
