Bette J. Keffer

Bette J. Keffer, 88, of Logan, passed away Friday, July 9, 2010 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. She was born June 13, 1922 in Logan, daughter of the late Orval and Clara Pierson Smith.

She retired from Smead Manufacturing.

Bette is survived by a son, Douglas Keffer of Logan; a daughter, Lynnette Tim Blair of Logan; grandchildren, Jim Brandi Blair of Logan and Jennifer Rob Beiter of Logan; great grandchildren, Isabella and Andrew Beiter; sisters, Retha Dale Walker of Logan and Letha Nihiser of Rockbridge and a sister-in-law, Alyce Roach of Logan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Glendon, Don, Dick and Harold Smith and sisters, Rosemond Hurst, Kate Sparks, Jean Burcham and Velma Guess.

Graveside services will be held 1 P.M., Monday, July 12, 2010 in Oak Grove Cemetery. As per Bette?s request, no calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second Street, Logan.

The family suggests contributions be made to Smith Chapel Food Pantry, 1333 E. Front Street, Logan, Ohio 43138.
