Mercedine D. Warren, 87, of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, surrounded by her family. She was born October 8, 1922 in Nelsonville, daughter of the late Melvin and Mildred Skivers Bruce. She was the widow of the late Clarence Warren Sr., who passed away March 25, 1989.
Mercedine was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Nelsonville and formerly worked at North American in Cleveland and Brooks Shoe Factory in Nelsonville. She also taught Sunday school at Doanville Presbyterian Church.
Mercedine is survived by a son, Clarence Mary Warren Jr. of Lancaster; daughters, Marland Fred Mohler of Doanville and Marsha Craig Hausinger of McCuneville, Ohio; grandchildren, Jay Mohler, Rob Bentley, Kelly Warren, Stacie Walther, Jenna Hausinger and Steven Putnam; great grandchildren, Aden and Adeline Walther and sisters, Juanita Oliver of Haydenville, Madelyn Corwin of Reynoldsburg and Florine Bruce of Logan.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Hawk and Gail Barber and a brother, Dale Bruce.
Graveside services will be held 1 P.M., Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. No calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville.
