Mary Ellen Workman, 85, of Logan, went home to The Lord, Wednesday, July 28, 2010. She was born October 6, 1924 in Stark County, Ohio, daughter of the late Russell Howard and Mary Belinda Phillips Adams. Mary Ellen was married to Eugene Workman, who survives.

She and her husband owned and operated several family businesses and she attended Centerpoint Church in Columbus.

Mary Ellen is survived a daughter, Susan Fred Ball of Westerville; a stepdaughter, Sharon Schoonover of Chauncey; a stepson, Samuel Beverly Workman of The Plains; grandchildren, Todd Workman, Lisa Tycer, Michael Thompson, Lynn Zeigler, Jerry Schoonover; Laurie Sauber and Alana Graham; ten great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; a sister, Edith Eggenschweiler of Canton; sister-in-law, Majel Adams of Louisville, Ohio; brother-in-law, Jim Lyons of Chauncey and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Russell Adams and Larry Lee Adams and sisters, Elizabeth Grace Adams, Evelyn Lucille Stump, Donna Mae McHenry and Loretta Maxine Lyons.

A memorial service will be held 2 P.M., Thursday, August 5, 2010 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge, at a later date.

The family suggests contributions be made to the Coal Ridge Ministries, P.O. Box 1920, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, 33302-1920.
