Evelyn M. Lax

Evelyn M. Lax, 93, of Nelsonville, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville. She was born March 15, 1917 in Hocking County, daughter of the late Claude and Forrest Edgel Green. Evelyn was the widow of the late Howard Lax.

She retired from Goodyear in Logan.

Evelyn is survived by sons, Bill Betsy Lax of Jensen Beach, Florida, Don Karen Lax of Athens and Mike Ruth Lax of Nelsonville; a daughter, Ruby Groce of Nelsonville; twenty-two grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; a brother, Jack Frances Green of Ramseur, North Carolina; a sister, Patty Green of Florida and son-in-law, Gary Fetherolf.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Fetherolf and son-in-law, Jerry Groce.

Graveside services will be held 1 P.M., Saturday, August 21, 2010 in Carbon Hill Cemetery, Carbon Hill, with Rev. David Cogar officiating. No calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
