William Bill Gorsuch

William ""Bill"" Gorsuch, 102, of McArthur, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Twin Maples Nursing Home in McArthur. He was born December 12, 1907 in McArthur, son of the late Perry and Gertrude Martindill Gorsuch. Bill was married to the late Nancy Snodgrass Gorsuch.

He was a member and Elder of the McArthur Presbyterian Church, an 80 year member of the McArthur Delta Masonic Lodge 207, a charter member of the McArthur Fraternal Order of Eagles # 2279, a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and the Aladdin Temple Shrine and the McArthur VFW Post # 5299. Bill was a WWII Army Veteran; a former Mayor of McArthur and was the former owner and operator of Gorsuch Drugs, having been a license Pharmacist since 1931.

Bill is survived by his stepdaughter, Michelle McKibben Steele of Gallipolis; stepson, Joseph Mary Jo McKibben of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Jacob, Jessica and Elle Steele; nephews, Frederick Riley June Whitmore of Rancho Palos Verdes, California, Chatland Jean Whitmore of Charleston, South Carolina and William Dorothy Whitmore of Hillsborough, North Carolina and a family friend, Millie Kohn of McArthur.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mabel Cotner Gorsuch; his first wife, Beatrice Gorsuch and his sister, Helen Whitmore.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Monday, August 30, 2010 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Bill Bales and Rev. Kay Puckett officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with military graveside services being conducted by the McArthur VFW Post # 5299. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 5-8 P.M., where Eagles services will be held at 7 P.M. and a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 P.M.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the McArthur Presbyterian Church, 202 W. High St., McArthur, Ohio 45651.
