Rodney O. Peoples, 80, of McArthur, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. He was born February 15, 1930, in Vinton County, son of the late James Ansel and Catherine Seymour Peoples. Rodney was married to Alma Cartee Peoples, who survives.
He retired from Mead Paper Mill in Chillicothe, was an Army Veteran serving in WWII and the Korea Conflict in Japan and was a member of the McArthur Church of The Nazarene.
Rodney is survived by a son, Rodney C. Susana Peoples Jr. of Sutter Creek, California; daughters, Linda C. David Pridemore of Utica, New York and Krystal Gary McCathren of McArthur; grandchildren, Michael C., Mark A., Rebekah M. and Cameron H. Peoples, D. Matthew and Nathan A. Pridemore, Robert A. Peoples Jr. and Trisha A. McCathren; great grandchildren, Brianne, Maicee, Josiah, Bryce and Chance Peoples and a sister, Mary Lou Haines of Washington Courthouse.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert A. Peoples, five sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, September 1, 2010 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with Pastor Michael C. Peoples and Pastor Bill Roth officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with military graveside services being conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5-8 P.M.
