Audrey F. Murphy

Audrey F. ""Audie"" Murphy, 91, of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in The Plains. She was born May 1, 1919 in Calhoun County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Scott and Lizzie Murphy Stover.

She owned and operated Scotts Store on 691 and attended Pentecostal Faith Church in Nelsonville.

Audie is survived by sisters, Genevieve Jones of Athens, Pearl Mace of Nelsonville, Hazel John Potter of New Lexington and Sylvia Doolittle of Nelsonville, with whom she resided and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Clairus ""Sonny"" Stover; brothers, Odell, Dale, Roscoe and Russell Stover and sisters, Bonnie and Maxine Stover.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, September 2, 2010 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. King Kelly officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Waterloo Township. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 6-8 P.M.
