Matthew Wayne Pierce

March 10, 1956 — September 10, 2010

Matthew ""Wayne"" Pierce, age 54, of Logan, Ohio, was taken from this life on Friday, September 10, 2010. To those who knew him, Wayne could always be counted on with quick advice on how to fix a car or truck after spending 17 years working as a master mechanic for the State of Ohio, before retiring in 2001.

He was a Navy Veteran and enjoyed riding his Harley.

Wayne was always more than happy to sit and talk for hours, as long as the coffee didn't run out. In the Fall, Wayne looked forward to spending opening day of deer season with his uncle Dale and his sons, waiting for that big buck to appear.

Wayne is preceded in death by his father, Hiram ""Dee"" Pierce. He is survived by his mother, Polly ""Betty"" Pierce of McArthur; wife, Carla Pierce of Logan; sons, Michael Pierce of Youngstown, Matthew and Mitchell Pierce of Logan; brothers, Roger Sharron Pierce of Allensville, Daniel Pierce of Logan and Ralph Sam Pierce of Allensville and one sister, Margie Bosdell of Ashville. In addition, Wayne enjoyed spending time with his seven grandchildren, Caleb, Matthew, Makayla, Josalyn, Braydon, A.J. and Zoey Rose Pierce.

Wayne's presence in the lives of those who knew him will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with Rev. Robert Buchman officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with military graveside services being conducted by the McArthur VFW Post # 5299. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 4-8 P.M.
