John Russell Wheeler

John Russell Wheeler, 85, of Logan, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at his residence. He was born April 5, 1925 in Montgomery County, Ohio, son of the late John V. Wheeler and Pauline Tompkin Wheeler Noble. John was married to Rose Walterham Wheeler, who survives.

He retired from the State of Ohio Department of Corrections and retired from the US Army; he was a Navy and Army Veteran of WWII and was a former Mason in Kentucky.

He is survived by sons, John B. Wheeler and Roy S. Wheeler, both of Logan; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wheeler.

Private graveside services will be held at Floral Hills Cemetery in Lancaster. No calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
