Alice M. Soles

Alice M. Soles, 94, of Buchtel, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. She was born February 16, 1916 in Buchtel, daughter of the late Virgil and Ruth Rittenberry Russell. Alice was the widow of the late Howard Soles, who passed away September 21, 1987.

She retired from Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan, where she was a nurses Aide.

Alice is survived by sons Jerry Sorrell and Keith Sorrell both of Columbus; daughters, Martina Arthur Lambert of Buchtel, Jean Clark of Columbus, Joan Tom Newman of Texas, Nancy Carl Newman of Texas; Mary Darrell Price of Pickerington, Ruth Alice William Shreeves of Reynoldsburg and Carolyn Steve Ording of Reynoldsburg; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Joe and David Sorrell, daughters, Peggy Sorrell and Lillian Dodd; brothers, Bill and Charles Russell and a sister, Lillian Drake.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, October 11, 2010 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. David Shoemaker officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
