Dorothy Haskins

Dorothy Haskins, 73, of Nelsonville, went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2010 at Holzer Senior Care in Gallipolis. She was born September 28, 1937 in Gallia County the daughter of the late Fred and Geneve Musser Brown. She married the late Loren Murray Haskins on December 19, 1954.

She graduated from Gallia Academy High School and was a homemaker who loved to cook, read, collect cookbooks and go to yard sales. She was a member of the Nelsonville First Christian Church. Dorothy never met a stranger. Her smile, laughter and fun-loving attitude will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by a son, Jeff Beverlee Haskins of Gallipolis, a grandson, Jeremy Brooks of Nelsonville, whom they raised as their son; grandchildren, Matthew January Haskins of Chillicothe, Megan Haskins of Gallipolis and Haley Talbert of Nelsonville; great grandchildren, Sarah, Jordan, Ben, Nick and Judah; two sisters and a son in-law, Randy Dishong of Nelsonville.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter, Sue Dishong.

At Dorothy's request, a private family memorial will be held with Daniel Davenport, Evangelist, Central Christian Church, presiding. There will be no visitation and a private graveside service will be conducted at a later date. Arrangements are by the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
