William R. Bill Campbell Sr.

William R. ""Bill"" Campbell Sr., 68, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at his residence. He was born September 6, 1942 in Belpre, Ohio, son of the late Roscoe and Effie Petty Campbell. Bill was married to Doris Pearse Campbell, who survives.

He retired from American Electric Power as a mechanic and was an Army Veteran. Bill was a member of the McArthur United Methodist Church, the Delta Masonic Lodge #207 F & AM, the McArthur Chapter #102 RAM, the Jackson Council and the Jackson Commandery. He was also a member of Knight of the York Cross Honour, the York Rite College in Athens and was Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 13th Masonic District.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by sons, William Joan Campbell Jr. and Donald Jill Campbell both of McArthur; a daughter, Candace Bob Blackburn of London; grandchildren, Brittany, Chastina, Garrett, James and Breanna and a brother, Charles Campbell.

Bill's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held 2:30 P.M., Sunday, October 24, 2010 in the McArthur United Methodist Church, 200 S. Market St., McArthur with Rev. Dr. Walt Goble officiating. A Masonic service will begin the memorial service. Inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 P.M. at the church.

Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of William R. ""Bill"" Campbell, to FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or to the McArthur United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 216, McArthur, Ohio 45651.
