Gilbert Lee Maffin Sr.

Gilbert Lee Maffin Sr., 63, of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010 at his residence. He was born September 26, 1947 in Athens County, son of the late Frank and Ruth Stuffelbeam Maffin. Gilbert was married to Mary Carlson Maffin, who survives.

He is survived by sons, Gilbert Maffin Jr., George Mary Maffin, Rob Sarah Maffin, Bruce Foreman and Benjamin Foreman; a daughter, Shari Greg Maffin Woods; eighteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Jean Red Cunnigham and Ruth Ann Bob Sheward and special friends, Tracy Bailey and Dave Slater.

In addition to his parents, Gilbert was preceded in death by a grandson and thirteen brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, December 22, 2010 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Rev. King Kelly officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M
