Robert M. Hensler, 88, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born August 14, 1922 in Radcliff, Ohio, son of the late Edgar and Celia Hunter Hensler Sr. Robert was married to the late Rita E. Hagerty Hensler.
He was a retired truck driver, a WWII Army Veteran, a member of the Wellston American Legion Post 371 and the Wellston VFW Post 9092.
Robert is survived by a son, Joseph E. Hensler of Wellston; grandchildren, Robert, Ryan and Carrie Hensler; sister, Betty Van Allen of Wellston; brothers-in-law, Dick Dorothy Hagerty of Chillicothe, Jack Alice Hagerty of Radcliff and Eddie Jo Ellen Hagerty of McArthur and sisters-in-law, Dorothy George Booth of McArthur, Carolyn Roger Dye of Grove City and Margie Taborn of Hamden.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edgar Hensler Jr., Don Hensler, Larry Hensler and William Hensler.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon. Monday, February 14, 2011, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with Rev. Glen Herman officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with military graveside services being conducted by the Wellston American Legion Post 371. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 6-8 P.M.
