Fern Nye

Fern Nye, 88, of Millfield, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville. She was born August 7, 1922 in Jacksonville, daughter of the late Francis and Dora Deal Barrett. Fern was the widow of the late Hubert F. Nye.

She was a member of the Christian Church in Millfield.

Fern is survived by sons, Hubert F. Nye Jr. of Reynoldsburg and Don C. Nye of Millfield; a daughter, Patty Earl Davis of Trimble; grandchildren, Sherry Davis of Trimble, Sheryl Davis of Trimble, Chuck Jill Davis of Jacksonville, Ryan Tara Nye of Phoenix, Arizona, Neil Naomi Nye of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Matthew Katie Nye of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Debbie Dave Ward of Columbus, Brent Nye of Columbus and Tim Gretchen Nye of Columbus; great grandchildren, Gavin, Maxwell and Jamison Nye and Casey and Jessa Jane Davis; a sister, Mary Kay Wiseman of Lancaster and a special friend Jean Jewell of Glouster.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Patrick, John, Donnie and Paul Barnett and sisters, Marcella Gaskella and Theresa Hanson.

Fern's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 30 Main St., Glouster.
