Shirley Ann Conkle

Shirley Ann Conkle, 74, of Glouster, formerly of Buchtel, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. She was born May 7, 1936 in Franklin County, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles Austin and Laura Alice Fitzpatrick Hale. Shirley was the widow of the late John Franklin Conkle.

She was a member of the Buchtel United Methodist Church.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Karen Jack Teal of Lancaster and Doris Curtis Gilden Conkle of Glouster, formerly of Buchtel; grandchildren, Karrie Ann Teal of Lancaster, Jackie Shawn Teal Lewis of Lancaster, Troy Lane Amodio Jr. of Glouster and Tiana Lynn Amodio Farley of Athens; great grandchildren, Jack, Paris and Izaac; sisters, Berdine Flowers of Lancaster, Peggy Hale of Lancaster, Sharon Johnson of Buchtel and Kitty Carl Pancake of Buchtel and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, John Charles Conkle; two brothers, Robert and Bill Hale; four sisters, Mary Nelson, Connie Jones, Florence Exline and Maxine Price and one half brother, Jack Hale

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor Steve Heskett officiating. Interment will be in Whitmore Cemetery, Buchtel. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, Ohio 45764.
