Karen L. Powell

Karen L. ""K.P. Buzz"" Powell, 49, of Nelsonville, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011, at her residence, after an extended illness. She was born June 6, 1961 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, daughter of the late William Lincoln and Barbara Ann Davis Owens Powell.

She attended Parkersburg High School. Karen enjoyed fishing, spending time with her family, playing computer games and playing with her grandson.

Karen is survived by her wife, Brenda Morrison of Nelsonville; daughters, Ashley Powell, Britney Call and Tracie Huffman all of Nelsonville; grandson, Trey Michael Smith; a sister, Jewell David Williams of Oil City, Pennsylvania; brothers, Troy Susie Owens of Parkersburg and Steffon Powell of Nashville, Tennessee; aunts, Donna Rickert of Erie, Pennsylvania, Carolyn Lindsey of Bridgeport, Ohio and Deborah Fields of Indianapolis, Indiana; special niece, Laneica Vaughn of Columbus and several uncles, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donnita Vaughn and a brother, Truman Owens.

At Karen's request, there will be no services. There will be a social gathering to celebrate Karen's life at Sumner School, Avery Street, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, on Saturday, March 26, 2011 from noon until 3 P.M. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, Ohio.
