Helen C. Darnell, 73, of Logan, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 15, 2011. She was born July 20, 1937 in Hocking County, daughter of the late Willis and Ardis Evelyn Wolfe Helber. Helen was married to Edward L. Darnell, who survives. She was his loving wife for 56 years.
Helen was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Logan, a member of the Venus Chapter #76 O.E.S and the Marion Grange. She was active in scouting with her children when they were younger.
Helen is survived by her son, Daniel Maria Darnell of McAllen, Texas; a daughter, Jenny Jim Ditty of Logan; grandchildren, James Sarah Ditty, Paul Whitney Ditty and Peter Ditty; five great grandchildren; a brother, George Edward Gail Helber of Cowan, West Virginia and sisters, Katie Don Taylor of Lancaster and Pam Gary McNichols of South Bloomingville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Helber.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Friday, March 18, 2011 in the Trinity United Methodist Church, 105 W. Hunter St., Logan, with Rev. Brian Arnold officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, on Thursday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M., where an Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30 P.M., and on Friday, one hour prior to the services at the church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Helen C. Darnell, to Trinity United Methodist Church, 105 W. Hunter St., Logan, Ohio 43138.
