Robert R. Rod Garey

Robert R. ""Rod"" Garey, 58, of Logan, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 at his residence. He was born July 21, 1952 in Chillicothe, son of the late Robert G. and Thelma McGreevy Garey. Rod was married to Linda S. Trowbridge Garey, who survives.

He retired from ODNR as the Manager of Lake Hope State Park, retired from the Army National Guard and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Hocking Conservancy District. Rod was a strong outdoorsman and conservationist that gave back to the community. He was a committee member of several sportsman organizations, hunter education instructor, and strong supporter of youth conservation events and programs.

He is survived by a son, Jason G. Tara Garey of Logan; a daughter, Fonda G. Eddie Welker of Logan; grandchildren, Weston Garey and Lane Welker and a sister, Suzanne Dave Claeys of Iowa.

Rod's wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Logan Moose Family Center, 701 E. Front St., Logan, where Military services will be conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
