Julius Cornelius J.C. Parrish

Julius Cornelius ""J.C."" Parrish, 55, of McArthur, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born September 25, 1955 in Harrisonburg, Virginia, son of Shirley Harold Troxell Morrison of McArthur and the late Sidney Hunter Parrish.

J.C. was a former employee of the Newport News Shipyard, a former boy scout and a member of the Newport News Moose Lodge.

He is survived by a son, Julius C. ""Jay"" Parrish Jr.; a daughter, Melissa Ann; one grandchild; a brother, John Marvin Theresa Parrish; sisters, Rebecca Ann Melvin Decatur, Dorothea Ann Morrison and Karen Denise James Phelps and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sidney Gene Parrish and a sister, Melissa Delphine Parrish.

Friends may call from 6-8 P.M., Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur. Cremation will follow the visitation and private services will be held at a later date.
