Rachel Mae Stevens Phillips

Rachel Mae Stevens Phillips, 84, of McConnelsville, formerly of McArthur, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 at Highland Oaks Nursing Home in McConnelsville. She was born August 16, 1926 in South Bloomingville, Ohio, daughter of the late Clayton Wright and Vernia Celeste Wine Stevens. Rachel was the widow of the late Ronald Phillips.

She was a former nurse's aid at Twin Maples Nursing Home in McArthur, she worked at Banquet Foods in Wellston and Goodyear in Logan. Rachel was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Logan, Jackson and recently in McConnelsville.

Rachel is survived by a son, Ronald Kim Clark Phillips Jr. of Chauncey; daughters, Mary Marshall Haggerty Warren of McConnelsville and Ronda Gary Bentley Woodrum of Rockbridge; grandchildren, Chris Warren, Tonya Shane Sheridan, Jason Tera Warren, Kimberly Jared Christman, Amy Johnnie Warren and Brandie Christopher Lehman Phillips; great grandchildren, Christopher, Tyler, Cooper, Claire, Regan and Bennie Warren and Christopher Lehman; a special nephew, Gerald Stevens of South Bloomingville and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph, Tom, Elbert, Ernest, Chester and five infant brothers and a sister, Donna.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, April 7, 2011 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 6-8 P.M.
