Lillian C. Fout Remy

Lillian C. Fout Remy age 73, died at home unexpectedly on the afternoon of April 4, 2011. She was born to Oakley and Grace Detty Fout on November 4th, 1937. She was the wife of Charles Remy whom she married December 20th, 1956. She was the proud mother of Charlotte Susie & husband Keith McManus and Roger Remy & his wife Gloria. She also had three grandsons- Matthew McManus & his wife Angel, Dane Remy & Brody Remy. On December 11th, 2009 she was blessed with a great granddaughter – Lilly Sue McManus and she also had a great granddaughter Allison Hayes.

Lillian is survived by her husband Charles, children-Susie & Roger, grand children-Matt McManus, Dane & Brody Remy and great grand children-Lilly Sue McManus and Allison Hayes. Also surviving is her sister Pat Clary & her husband Jesse. She had recently returned from a trip in Florida to visit Pat whom she loved very much. Lillian had a very special friend Laura Ankrom who was always there for her. Her other friends are Mildred Ratcliff and Joanne Castor who went to the Paint Valley Jamboree with her and Charles. Lillian worked for the Vinton County Schools for 27 years as a reading aid and cook, and still was friends with Naomi Wallace, Marty Kruger, Charlotte Souers, Mary Partee, Melba Detty and Thelma Wallace who went out to eat & shop usually every month. She also leaves behind her dog buddy-Joe.

She was predeceased by her parents Oakley & Grace Fout; brother Clifford Wise and sisters Ethel Cochenour & Jeannie Fairchild.

Lillian was a wonderful Wife, Mom, Grandma, Sister and friend to many. She will be remembered for her kind heart, pretty smile and the love she had for her family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Lillian was a member of SERENO Chapter #128 OES.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Friday, April 8, 2011 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur. Burial will be in Londonderry Cemetery, Londonderry. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 4-8 P.M. where an Eastern Star service will be held at 7 P.M.

In going through some things at her home the following two verses were found that she enjoyed. ""God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change…the courage to change the things I can…and the wisdom to know the difference"" ""Make yourself familiar with the angels, and behold them frequently in spirit; for without being seen, they are present with you."" We know that Lillian is now a beautiful angel with no pain and smiling down at us.
