Michael S. Lenrow

March 9, 1932 — April 6, 2011

Michael S. Lenrow, beloved father and loving partner, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. He had been living in Athens, Ohio, and was formerly of Dayton, Ohio. Michael was born on March 9, 1932, in Ames, Iowa, the first born of Bernard Lenrow and Libby Maranov. He grew up in Englewood, New Jersey, and was graduated from Swarthmore College and The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He served in the U. S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He had a career as a city manager, nonprofit surveyor and researcher, and market researcher. He was a member of the Dayton community for many years and retired from the Dayton Daily News.

Survivors include his domestic partner, Carole Alder; his brother, Peter B. Lenrow; his children, Laura Lenrow Hurt, Linda Lenrow Lopez, Leslie Shrage, and Bernard Thomas Lenrow; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Libby Lenrow; a brother, Andrew Lenrow; and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Lenrow. Michael will be remembered for being a devoted father and for his kindness and
love. Cremation is arranged by Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio, and there will be a private family service.
