Thomas P. Brown

Thomas P. Brown, 71, of McArthur, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born December 24, 1939 in Glouster, son of the late William P. and Norma J. Jewel Brown.

Tom formerly worked for the Chrysler Corporation in Indiana and was an Air Force Veteran.

He is survived by a brother, Gary R. Jane Brown Sr. of McArthur; a sister, Billie Jean Sowers of Allensville and several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bill Sowers.

Tom's wishes were to be cremated. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.

Oh, Great Spirit whose voice I hear in the winds, and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me, I am small and weak, I need strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes behold the red and purple sunset. Make my hands respect the things you have made and my ears sharp to hear your voice. Make me wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people. Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every rock and leaf, I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight with my greatest enemy-myself. Make me always ready to come to you with clean hands and eyes, so when life fades, as the fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame.
