Evelyn A. Eckels

Evelyn A. Eckels, 83, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born August 26, 1927 in Columbus, daughter of the late Edward and Ethel Coe Levins. Evelyn was married for 66 years to Robert A. Eckels, who survives.

She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Susan Eckels of North Canton, Joe Mary Lou Eckels of Columbus and Jay B. Eckels of Nelsonville; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and a sister, Jane Terry Taggart of Nelsonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters and a sister, Elizabeth McQuaid.

Graveside services will be held 2 P.M., Friday, April 29, 2011 in Carbon Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Friends may call at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, on Thursday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
