Paul Gilbert Johnson

Paul Gilbert Johnson, 67, of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at his residence. He was born December 23, 1943 in Logan, son of the late Gilbert and Betty Womsley Johnson

Paul retired from the United Mine Workers Association after 26 years of service. He was also a barber in Nelsonville and Athens for many years. He volunteered with the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway and was a member of the Nelsonville First United Methodist Church.

Paul is survived by a daughter, Jennifer and Chuck Sullivan of Pleasantville, four grandchildren, Kaytlynn, Sheridan, Madelynn and Peyton Sullivan, a brother, Richard and Cindy Johnson of Nelsonville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. Karen Walters officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
