Tammy Sue Heyman

Tammy Sue Heyman, 50, of Beavercreek, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at her residence. She was born June 27, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of Deanna Wiles Taylor Newlun of Logan and the late Edward Taylor Sr. Tammy was married to Richard L. Heyman, who survives.

She was President of Highteck Nutrition and Consulting service. Tammy was a major contributor to the dietetic profession at the local, state and national levels. She was highly regarded in her ability to analyze outcomes data and incorporate evidence-based outcomes research into clinical practice. Through her analytical thinking ability and her creativity, she built a sophisticated technology micro-business. The legislative agenda for the dietetics profession was greatly impacted by her ability to think globally yet speak locally. Her colleagues will miss her intellectual generosity and genuine smile.

In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her stepson, Richard L. Heyman Jr. of Tampa, Florida; stepdaughter, Aundrea M. Saasa of San Diego, California; three step grandchildren; a brother, Michael Wilson of Lancaster and stepfather, Kenneth Newlun of Logan.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Friday, July 29, 2011 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Vern Goss officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 9 A.M., until the time of the service.
