Mary Jean Metcalf Winchell

Mary Jean Metcalf Winchell, 55, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens. She was born November 14, 1955 in Athens, daughter of the late Paul E. and Grace Colleen Burt Metcalf.

Mary was a former residential aid at HAVAR in Athens and was a member of Risen Redeemer Full Gospel Church.

She is survived by her son, Jerrold ""Bub"" M. Winchell of Athens; daughter, Brandy Anthony Osborne of Athens; grandchildren, Zachary and Jacob Osborne; brothers, Dan Maryann Metcalf of Columbus, Samuel L. Metcalf of Logan, Thomas J. Karen Metcalf of Nelsonville, Timothy Misty Metcalf of Columbus, Mark E. Wendy Metcalf of Chauncey and Phillip Metcalf of Nelsonville; sisters, Marty Paul Steinbrink of Nelsonville, Ruth Metcalf of Nelsonville and Anna Bill Harkless of Chillicothe; a special niece, Andrea Metcalf of The Plains and her former husband, Jerry Winchell of Murray City.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Thelma and Sylvester Winchell and brother, Joseph Metcalf.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Friday, July 29, 2011 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor John Johnson and Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 11 A.M. until the time of the service.
