Nancy Lee Meadows

Nancy Lee Meadows, 80, of Columbus, formerly of McArthur, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital in Columbus. She was born December 4, 1930 in McArthur, daughter of the late Leland and Grace Davis Murphy. Nancy was the widow of the late Robert Meadows.

Nancy was a volunteer at Mt. Carmel West Hospital for Hospice and Psychiatric programs. She had a life long love of horses and mentored several generations of children and adults passing on that passion with great skill and patience.

Nancy is survived by her son, Kent Virgene Meadows of Derby, Kansas; grandchildren, Jennifer Austin Walker of Lees Summit, Missouri and Mike Meadows of Derby, Kansas and numerous relatives and close friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott Meadows and sisters, Becky Rupert and Mary Martin.

Nancy's request was to be cremated with no services. Burial will take place in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
