Clyde Woods

Clyde ""Dud"" J. Woods, 69, of Nelsonville, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 in Nelsonville. He was born December 23, 1941 in Fairfield County, son of the late Clyde J. and Mary F. Kellenbarger Woods. Dud was married for 22 years to Alberta Bailey Woods, who survives.

He retired from Lucent Technology, and was a Vietnam Army Veteran. Dud was a Life Member of the VFW and Amvets in Lancaster, the Eagles in Logan and was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sugar Grove.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Bill Cottrill of Nelsonville; daughter, Shelly Bateman of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Nicona Cottrill, Victoria Bateman and Zoe Hinerman; great grandchildren, Bryleigh Smart and Joshua Sarver; brother, Bill Woods of Bedford, Indiana; sister, Mary Miller of Sugar Grove; several nieces and nephews and special friends, John Hurd and Chris Morris and all of his trap shooting buddies.

Dud's wishes were to be cremated. Graveside services will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville with Rev. David Shoemaker officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. No visitation will be held. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made in memory of Clyde ""Dud"" J. Woods, to the American Cancer Society, Central Region Office-VINT, 870 Michigan Ave., Columbus, OH 43215.
