Robert C. ""Bob"" Whiteman, 59, of McArthur, passed away, Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Adena Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born July 29, 1952 in Athens County, son of the late George and Vivian ""Beanie"" Riley Whiteman. He was married to Cathy Sue Snyder Whiteman, who survives.
Bob was a retired truck driver. He was a loyal dirt track racing fan and crew chief for the #52 team. He was a member of the Athens Redmen Lodge, a social member of McArthur VFW Post 5299, member of the Coon Hunters Club in Coonville, and was a dedicated hunter and outdoorsman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Angel Steve Jackson of Logan; two sons, Brian Casey Whiteman of New Plymouth and Matt Jade Whiteman of Creola; grandchildren, Krisda Whiteman, Kayla Jackson, Delana Jackson, Jaelyn Jackson, Elizabeth Whiteman, Mackenzie Whiteman, Hunter Whiteman and Mattison Whiteman; brothers and sisters, Sue, Sandy Dave, Mimi, KayKay Kenny, Mart Mike, MaryPat, Polly Clem, Deb, Ang, Tim Miss Kitty, Frank Jackie, Bill Tina, Jon Penny, Pat Tammy, Tony and Mike; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur. Interment will be at Elk Cemetery, McArthur where military graveside services will be conducted by McArthur VFW Post 5299. Friends may call Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
