Earl L. Cecil Sr.

Earl L. Cecil Sr., 81, of McArthur, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 at his residence. He was born May 20, 1930 in Allensville, Ohio, son of the late Ed and Ival Graves Cecil. Earl was married for 62 years to Mary Wavalene Sowers Cecil, who survives.

He formerly worked at Kroger in McArthur, retired from the Vinton County National Bank and was a former volunteer for the McArthur Fire Department.

Earl is survived by his son, Earl L. Cecil Jr. of McArthur; daughter, Pam Brian McKinniss of Wellston; grandchildren, Keith, Stacy, Julie, Chad and Ashley; ten great grandchildren; a brother, Paul Fran Cecil of Allensville and a brother-in-law, Wallace McWhorter of Chillicothe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Bruce Cecil; brother, Jim Cecil; sister, Janet McWhorter and sister-in-law, Jean Cecil

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, November 3, 2011 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with Rev. Jerry Griffith Jr., Rev. James Griffith and Pastor Chris Dewhurst officiating. Interment will be in Bell Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 6-8 P.M. and on Wednesday, from 4-8 P.M.
