Elsie Joann Hoyd

Elsie Joann Hoyd, 73, of McArthur, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Logan Health Care Center in Logan. She was born February 21, 1938 in Dundas, Ohio, daughter of the late Cash Thompson and Mary Stevens Thompson Ward.

Joann is survived by her daughters, Mary Dale Stack of McArthur and Margaret Michael McGraw of Athens; grandchildren, Devon Stack, Josh McGraw and Kimberly Josh Williams; great grandchild, Conner Williams; sister, Virginia Misner of Logan and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joann; sons, David and Tommy; sisters, Wanda Dowler and Mona Townsend and a brother, Bob Thompson.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Jimmy Forrest officiating. Interment will be in Harkins Chapel Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 12 noon until the time of the service.
