Gertrude Mcdaniel

Gertrude McDaniel, 90, of Logan, formerly of New Plymouth, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Logan Health Care Center. She was born August 8, 1921 in Hocking County, daughter of the late Harmon and Nellie Schurtz Huntley. Gertrude was married to the late Hobart McDaniel.

She attended the Union Furnace United Methodist Church and graduated from Union Furnace High School. She loved her flower garden, canning, sewing, rug making and especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren.

Gertrude is survived by her sons, Marvin Pat McDaniel of Logan, Melvin Reba McDaniel of Athens, Larry Jeaneen McDaniel of New Concord, David Cathy McDaniel of Logan and Greg Carol McDaniel of Logan; daughters, Sharry Charlie Moorehead of Logan, Susan Dave Robinette of Nelsonville and Kathy Roger Shaw of Logan; grandchildren, Lisa Patrick Hosler, Shelley Michael McCutcheon, Michelle Ryan McClain, Shantelle Sean McLaughlin, Derek Katie McDaniel, Betsy Steve Witt, Cary Steve Belcher, Bryce Rachael McDaniel, Jay Megan McDaniel, Shannon Bill Copley, Ryan Tiffany McDaniel, Tyler McDaniel, Teri Bobby Ward, Darci Morehead, Jennifer Robinette, David Kyle Robinette, Hobart Shaw, Huntley Shaw and Gertrude Shaw; twenty eight great grandchildren and a brother, Robert Ernestine Huntley of McArthur.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and twin sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, November 23, 2011 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Dr. Randy Hardman officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5-8 P.M.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Gertrude McDaniel to FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
