Ruth Talbott George

Ruth Talbott George, 98, of McArthur, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Hustons Nursing Homes in Hamden. She was born November 22, 1913 in Clark County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Roger Cabell and Lula Mae Turley Talbott. Ruth was the widow of the late Arthur James ""Ollie"" George.

Ruth was a retired teacher from the Vinton County School System and Rio Grande College. She earned her Bachelor Degree from Eastern Kentucky University, her Master's Degree from Ohio University and was a charter member of Kappa Delta Pi. Ruth was also an International poet.

Ruth is survived by a daughter, Carol Conley Rabbi Charles W. Edwards of Ft. Myers, Florida; grandson, Chadwick Morgan Kari Conley of Orlando, Florida; great grandchildren, Carson and Camryn Conley of Orlando, Florida and a brother, Lewis ""Junie"" Maryjane Talbott of Port St. John, Florida, nephew Roger Talbott of Port St. Johns, Florida and niece Tammy Mark Boggess, Jonas, Ellie Boggess, Titusville, Florida and Tavin LeeManley and son Wyatt of Titusville, Florida.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Talbott.

Graveside services will be held 3 P.M., Sunday, April 22, 2012, in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with Rev. Ferrell Rood and Rabi Charlie Edwards son-in-law officiating. No visitation will be held. Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
