Ruby E. Hayden

Ruby E. Hayden, age 77, of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012, at her home with her loved ones by her side.

Born on October 3, 1934, in Nelsonville, Ohio, Ruby was the daughter of the late David W. and Mildred Mae Buck Davis. She was a 1952 graduate of Nelsonville High School and a member of the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church. She retired from Nelsonville York Schools in 1998 after serving 30 years as an aide, clerk/receptionist and rounding out her career as secretary to the principal of NY Elementary. Ruby was a devoted mother, known for her kindness, enthusiasm for her Christian life and love for her cats.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John David ""J.D."" and Kim Hayden of Buchtel; sisters, Mable L. Elmer Potter of Chillicothe and Jessie M. Campbell of Nelsonville; brothers, Dean W. Carol Davis of California and Paul Martie Davis of Nelsonville; sister-in-laws, Katherine Davis of Logan, Emogene Chuck Magley of Grove City, Nancy Bob Locke of Alliance, Joanne Hayden of Marion, Connie Hayden of Buchtel; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many special friends and neighbors, both near and far.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph E. Davis, Hubert L. Davis, David R. Davis, Clarence L. Davis and Charles Davis, and her brother-in-law, James P. Campbell.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call from 11 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
