Bobby Lee Payne, 53, of Laurelville, passed away, Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan. He was born August 17, 1958 in Rockbridge, son of the late Barton Eugene and Virginia McNichols. He was married to Charlotte Stevens Payne, who survives.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He loved art and painted many velvet paintings. He touched the hearts of everyone he met.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Michael Payne of Columbus, Joshua Payne of Chillicothe, Wade Stevens of Circleville; daughters, Utiva Stevens of Adelphia and Lisa Stevens of Chillicothe; 8 grandchildren; a great grandchild; brothers, Jim, George, Lawrence and Steve Payne all of Laurelville and Larry Payne of Circleville; sister, Mary Fox of Laurelville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with Rev. James Wine officiating. Interment will be at Chestnut Grove Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by McArthur VFW Post 5299. Friends may call Tuesday, February 21, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
