Howard L. ""Sonny"" Whited, 68, of The Plains, passed away Monday, February 27, 2012 at Russell Nursing Home in Albany. He was born May 28, 1943 in South Charleston, West Virginia, son of the late John Howard and Ada M. Wymer Whited. Sonny was married May 25, 1960 to Karan Kay Adkins Whited, who survives.
He was a retired Tire Recycler and attended Faith Tabernacle Church in Nelsonville.
Sonny is survived by his wife; daughters, Etta Jane Harold Carpenter of Stewart, Coleen Renea Jeff Warren of Nelsonville, Christine Marie Chapin of The Plains and Stephanie Kay Rake of Parkersburg, West Virginia; grandchildren, John Ashley Carpenter of Albany, Amanda Simms of Cheshire, Shawna Carpenter of Bartlett, Ted Carpenter of Stewart, Brandon Bohlen of Nelsonville, Tessa Timothy Trainer of Athens, Scott Kathy Warren of Nelsonville and Elizabeth and Sophie Rake of Parkersburg, West Virginia and fifteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister and his mother and father-in-law.
A memorial service will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Faith Tabernacle Church, Rt. 33, Nelsonville, with Rev. King Kelly officiating. No calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
