Mary L. Elliott

Mary L. Elliott, 80, of Chauncey, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012 at Pickering House in Lancaster. She was born July 28, 1931 in Chauncey, the daughter of the late Ernest and Gertrude Locke Johnston.

Mary graduated from Chauncey High School and retired from Selkirk Metalbestos in Logan. She was an avid flower gardener, loved decorating her home for Christmas and was a life member of the Chauncey Am Vets ladies auxiliary.

Mary is survived by her loving children, Ernest Tamera Elliott of Palatka, Florida, Linda Faunce of Independence, Missouri, Sandra Elliott of Athens and Barbara Michael Melena of Novelty, Ohio; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Asbury of Crescent City, Florida, Christopher Lowell Elliott of Jacksonville, Florida, Nicole Woods of Mayview, Missouri, Amanda Faunce of Gardener, Kansas, April Bartlett-Dean of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Stephanie Bartlett of Baltimore, Maryland; great grandchildren, Kendal, Rylie, Ashliegh, Kayla and Eddie; brothers, Carroll Betty Johnston of Columbus, James Johnston of Grove City and Rodney Johnston of Malta and her dog, Pixie.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by sisters, Geraldine Johnston, Marie Jolley and Corrina Barnes; brothers, Richard, Walter and Harry Johnston and her former husband and father of her children, Robert Elliott.

Cremation has been requested and no services will be held at this time. Inurnment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville at a later date. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, Ohio 45764.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in memory of Mary L. Elliott be made to Pickering House, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
