Leo Leslie Hughes

Leo Leslie Hughes, 93, of Nelsonville, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at his residence. He was born January 24, 1919 in Gallia County, son of the late Roy and Opal George Hughes. Leo was married to the late Wilma Bishop Hughes.

He retired from the Operating Engineers, was a member of Mingo Lodge #171 F&AM, Antioch Temple in Dayton and the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton.

Leo is survived by a son, Gary Malinda Hughes of Liberty Hill, Texas; daughter, Beverly Russell Stump of Nelsonville; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and brothers, Sheridan Hughes of Marion, Ohio and Donald Hughes of Tennessee.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Hughes; sister, Georgia Viola Schaber and brothers, Neil and Darrell Hughes.

A memorial service will be held 6 P.M., Friday, April 20, 2012 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Leo Leslie Hughes, to the American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Rd., Dublin, Ohio 43017.
