Robert E. Nihiser, 76, of Logan, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012 at his residence. He was born February 1, 1936 in Lancaster, Ohio, son of the late Frank E. and Edna M. Dykes Nihiser. He was married for 57 years to Glenda R. Leasure Nihiser, who survives.
He retired from Anchor Hocking, was an excavator and a member of Bremen Holiness Church.
Robert is survived by his daughters Lisa Larry Klingler of Logan and Amy Tony Bower of Sugar Grove; grandchildren, Jason Becky Huffines, Alisa Josh Wharton, Brent Kattie Huffines, Troy Athina Collinsworth, Josh Amanda Nihiser, Mandy Nihiser, Aaron Bower, Tara Kyle Cordray and Kyle Bower; fifteen great grandchildren; brothers, Harry Nihiser of Logan, Richard Nihiser of Logan, Frank Nihiser of Lancaster and Bill Nihiser of Logan; sisters, Betty Goss of Logan and Ada Nash of Logan; son-in-law, Dick Huffines of Logan; daughter-in-law, Sheila Cooperrider of Thornville; mother-in-law, Esther Wilson of Logan and his family pet, Lexie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Troy Nihiser; daughter, Vicky Leann Huffines and a brother, Tom Nihiser.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, April 12, 2012 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Pastor Roger Hatfield and Brother Denny Wilson officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 6-8 P.M. and on Wednesday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
