Wilma Tolliver, 98, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation, Logan. She was born November 3, 1913 in Bicknell, Indiana, the daughter of the late William Clarence and Elizabeth Messell Tignor. She was the widow of the late Bert Tolliver.
Wilma and her husband, Bert, owned and operated the Purity Market in Roseville as well as Tolliver's Market on Poplar St in Nelsonville. She was a member of the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, Nelsonville, and formerly a member of the Nelsonville Emblem Club and The VFW Auxiliary in Roseville.
Wilma is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Williams of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Teresa Tom Tedrow of The Plains, Karen Roger Bail of Albany and Brent Linda Williams of Logan; 6 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her sisters, Edna Smith, Lillian Paxton, Betty Tignor, Gladys Tignor, Margaret Howe, infant sister, Forest Tignor; brothers, Clarence, Amos and Donald Tignor and her son-in-law, Donald Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville with Pastor Tom Hanning officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
