Donald R. Eggleston

Donald R. Eggleston, 83, of Logan, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan. He was born June 26, 1928 in Hocking County, son of the late Eliphalet S. and Laura McClurg Eggleston. Don was married to Charlotte Ellis Eggleston, who survives.

He retired from Austin Powder Company in McArthur, attended the Logan Church of the Nazarene and worked at Sears in Logan and Athens for 25 years. Don was a member of the Delta Lodge #207 F&AM in McArthur and enjoyed walking and mushroom hunting.

He is survived by his children, Garen Christine Eggleston of Gahanna, Sheila David McAfee of New Plymouth, Randall Eggleston of Columbus and Don Christina Eggleston II of Lancaster; stepchildren, Crystal Bill Mitchell of Centerville and Thomas Jeanie Tripp of Amanda; grandchildren, Sam, Nicholas, Alexander, Jeffrey, Drew, Alexis and Chandler Eggleston, Jennifer McDaniel, Jeremy McAfee, Jamie Funk, Thomas Tripp, Sarah Stuttle, Bill Mitchell and Amanda Keifer and fourteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Eggleston; sisters, Faye Groves, Alice Eggleston, Margaret Ruggles, Opal ""Pat"" Lutz and Imogene Wallace and a brother, Ercle L. Eggleston.

Graveside services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, May 14, 2012 in Knollwood Cemetery, Logan, with Rev. James Mathias officiating. Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, on Sunday, from 6-8 P.M.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Donald R. Eggleston to FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
