Romeyn Ron Prater

Romeyn Ron Prater, 73, of Chillicothe, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born December 12, 1938 in Hueysville, Kentucky, son of the late William and Ella Prater. Ron was married to Sharon Sharp Prater, who survives.

He retired from Kenworth in Chillicothe and was a member of the McArthur Eagles AERIE #2279.

Ron is survived by his sons, William ""Bill"" Cindy Prater of Pomeroy and Christopher Lynn Prater of McArthur; stepson, David Williams of Wellston; stepdaughter, Cheryl Mike Westfall of Cincinnati; grandchildren, William ""B"" Michelle Prater, Braden Prater, Trenton Prater, Katie Prater, Mason Williams, McKenna Williams and Michael Westfall; great grandson, Ethan Prater; brothers, Charles Opal Prater Columbus and William Hershel Marilyn Prater of McArthur; sister, Marcella Farmer of Leesburg, Florida; the mother of his children, Virginia Sikorski of McArthur; many nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Betty Prater of McArthur.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Prater.

At Ron's request, no services will be held. Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
