Doris Myrtle Fri, 92, of McArthur, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Maple Hills Nursing Home in McArthur. She was born September 2, 1919 in Tuppers Plains, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles F. and Louella Staneart Keller. Myrtle was the widow of the late Leslie W. Fri.

She retired from Vinton County Schools, was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in McArthur, Circle of Ruth, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Vinton County Retired Teachers Association. Myrtle was a former member of the New Plymouth Grange.

She is survived by her son, Chuck Charlotte Fri of McArthur; grandchildren, Carla Lee Rowley of Westerville and Garth Amy Fri of Wilkesville; great grandchildren, Aria Rowley, Kaylyn and Kolbie Fri and a close friend, Eileen Cottrill of McArthur.

In addition to her parents and husband, Myrtle was preceded in death by her brothers, Garth and Robert Keller and sisters, Mabel Pierce and Bernice Blough.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 207 E. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Danny Minton officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ on Tuesday, from 5-8 P.M.

Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
