Jessie Hackney

Jessie Hackney, 80, of Logan, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 28, 1931 in Big Rock, Virginia, son of the late Thomas and Tilda Scharbury Hackney. Jessie was married to the late Marlene J. Hackney.

He was a retired carpenter.

Jessie is survived by a son, Tom Charlene Hackney of Logan; daughters, Cathy Art Hammond of McArthur, Brenda Tim Woltz of McArthur and Crystal Steve Barker of Ray; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; a brother, Lacy Hackney of Bristol, Virginia and several foster children.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Hackney and a granddaughter.

Private services will be held at a later date. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Thursday, from 4-8 P.M.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Jessie Hackney to the Scenic Hills Senior Center, 187 S. Spring St., Logan, Ohio 43138.
