Clifford L. Stump, 89, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Yorkland Park Care Center, Columbus. He was born April 5, 1923 in Carbondale, son of the late Charles Wesley and Edith Wynona Hill Stump.
Mr. Stump was a graduate of Waterloo High School and was formerly the manager of The Great Southern Hotel in Columbus. He was a decorated World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Corps.
He is survived by a brother, Charles Dixie Stump of Nelsonville, special niece and nephews, Sharon Joe Arrick of Witchita Falls, Texas, Nelson Kim Bodkins of Blacklick and Gregory Vera Bodkins of Virginia; sister-in-law, Nancy Stump and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd, Paul, Howard, Willard and Eddie Stump; sisters, Irene Trimble, Mildred Brumfield, Ella Bodkins, Gladys Holley, Jane Thomas and Faye Reeves and a niece, Charlene Arkley.
Friends may call Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Cremation will take place following the visitation.
