Barbara Lee Birkhimer

Barbara Lee Birkhimer, 64, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 20, 1947 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Dr. Arnold R. and Janet R. Lee.

Bobbie graduated from McArthur High School and Ohio University, where she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. She was retired from Columbus City Schools where she taught for 29 years. She dearly loved her family especially her grandkids. Bobbie loved to travel and enjoyed her vacations to the beaches and visiting lighthouses. Her relationships with her friends were special. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, reading, collecting and talking on the phone.

Survived by her children, Ellen Tuyen Cao and Bradley Kimberly Birkhimer; grandchildren, Branden, Nathen and Jorden Cao and Jaxson Birkhimer. Sisters, Judy Lee and Stephanie James Rishel; nieces, Holly Jamie Mason, Kristin Thomas Shuman and Sara Rishel; great niece, Emma Mason and great nephew, Will Shuman.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Saturday, August 11, 2012 in the McArthur United Methodist Church, 200 South Market Street, McArthur, with Rev. Dr. Walt Goble officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the McArthur United Methodist Church on Saturday, from 11 A.M. until the time of the service.

Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
