Gary L. Carr Sr.

Gary L. Carr Sr., 68, of The Plains, went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born November 7, 1943 in Hamden, son of the late Everett Carr and Catherine Woogerd Granville Carr Thompson. Gary was married to Myrna A. Newlun Carr, who survives.

He retired from ABEX, was an Army Veteran and was a member of the Nelsonville Eagles.

Gary is survived by his children, Debbie Jane Gary Warren of Nelsonville, Gary Lee Crystal Carr Jr. of Chauncey, Tammy Mike Lee of Nelsonville, Debbie Sue Burdge of El Paso, Texas, Tommy Laura Carr of Logan, Bill Tracy Newlun of Nelsonville, Chris Melissa Carr of Chauncey and Scott Mary Chorniak Carr of The Plains; grandchildren, Timmy, JD, Tiffany, Chelsey, Cody, Jessica, Lindsey, Mike, Travis, Amber, Trisha, Ryan, Rachael, Ashley, Carissa, Treycen, Michelle, Brittany, Chase and Joseph; ten great grandchildren; a brother, Dale Carr of Nelsonville and a sister, Donna Huffine of Marion.

In addition ot his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather; sisters, Geraldine Molihan, Josephine McWilliams and Norma Carr; brother, Virgil Carr and grandsons, Justin and Travis.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Saturday, August 11, 2012 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 4-8 P.M.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Gary L. Carr to the American Heart Association, PO Box 163549, Columbus, OH 43216-3549.
